SummerStage left.

one of the best things about living in new york in the summertime — besides the intense, boundless, core-shaking energy — is the free outdoor concerts. some actually cost nothing,  and some are free if you sit right outside the venue on a quilt with a picnic and a chilled glass of wine, which is exactly what alexis, her friend, nb and i did last night at ray lamontagne.  below are two blurry cell phone photos of what central park trees look like just after sunset.  i wish i could show you what it feels like to close your eyes and listen to his music in that exact location and time of year; so beautiful it feels like you could just cry in a way that would totally freak out a boy but resonate with sentimental girls with big, swollen hearts.
