I remember when I was a little tadpole* in the accessories department at Vogue and I first heard the name Proenza Schouler. It’s pronunciation confounded me and their sheer genius in design astounded me.
Like this runway look from S/S 2010. From the piece-y, rock n’ roll hair to the impenetrable black sunglasses, to the neon tie-dye tee with exposed zipper detail, to the perfect length and shape of the ruffled mini skirt paired with sheer black tights and the most INSANE neon accented platform sandals. Each piece of the puzzle is a dramatic burst of explosive color, texture, and shape. Together it’s quite an impact.
